Thanks much for the very informative reply. Speaking of good penetration have you been to Twin River in Rhode Island yet? There are back offs at MS but not nearly as much as Foxwoods. There are a few dealers who give better pen and anyone who plays regularly knows who they are and even when and where they'll be working. This place still doesn't get it and hasn't gotten it since 1996. Penetration can be somewhat dealer dependent but the norm at Mohegan Sun is a dismal 66%. Split aces gets you one card on each at both casinos. Mohegan Sun allows unlimited re splitting of pairs while at Foxwoods it's three times for a total of four hands.
I don't think I've ever seen a casino that didn't. I don't know why anyone would want to but both casinos allow doubling for less. Other than these two rooms, blackjack at Foxwoods is 8 deck H17. Most floors won't let you add a hand or re enter the game after sitting out a few hands. The NMSE is one thing I don't like because I'm a wonger. These games are watched very closely and are where the back offs occur. The Newport Room and the MGM high limit room both have $50 minimums except for the busiest of times.
Foxwoods dealers do not use it because they are told to cut one deck off their 6 and 8 deck shoes and they do for the most part. Both casinos have a notch on the side of the shoe.
